Wisconsin State Superintendent Candidate Brittany Kinser to Speak at Newsmaker Luncheon

MILWAUKEE – Brittany Kinser, who is seeking election to lead the state’s Department of Public Instruction, will be the guest speaker at a Newsmaker luncheon set for Tuesday, March 25, hosted by the Milwaukee Press Club, WisPolitics.com and the Rotary Club of Milwaukee.
Kinser will speak briefly and then take questions during a conversation with Jeff Mayers, WisPolitics.com president. Afterward, Kinser will take questions from the audience.
Kinser’s opponent, incumbent Jill Underly, was invited to participate in a joint event but her campaign spokesperson said she was unavailable.
The luncheon will run from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Milwaukee County War Memorial Center, 750 N Lincoln Memorial Drive.
Brittany Kinser has 25 years of experience as a public school science and special education teacher and award-winning principal. She served as CEO of a Milwaukee education advocacy nonprofit, City Forward Collective. Kinser received the “Beating the Odds” award from Then-State Superintendent Tony Evers for her work in Wisconsin. She is currently an educational consultant. Kinser holds a master’s degree in Designing Science Curriculum from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Eastern Illinois University.

The press club’s Newsmaker Luncheons are held to inform the public about the people and issues that affect individuals and communities in Milwaukee and Wisconsin. The cost to attend is $30. Lunch is included. Registration deadline is Thursday, March 20. Seating is limited. Advanced registration and payment are required and may be done online at http://www.milwaukeepressclub.org/.
The program is open to members of the Rotary Club, the Milwaukee Press Club, WisPolitics.com and their invited guests. Members of the public can view the livestream by going to the Rotary Club of Milwaukee website starting at 12:10 pm.
