The Order of the Knights of the Golden Quill is the highest journalism honor bestowed by the Milwaukee Press Club in recognition of outstanding professional accomplishment. For her passion and determination as a watchdog reporter; a career marked by award-winning work, including recognition as a Pulitzer Prize finalist, winner of two George Polk Awards and winner of the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award; for difference-making work, from exposing the dangers of BPA and other chemicals to prompting major reforms for the mental health system to protect some of the most vulnerable members of society; Kissinger will join a Circle of Knights that includes Raquel Rutledge, Irwin Maier, Ed Hinshaw, John McCullough, Melodie Wilson and President John F. Kennedy.
The Circle of the Knights of Bohemia is comprised of community leaders who are not journalists. This honor recognizes exemplary community leadership. For his involvement in the entertainment and hospitality industry here in Milwaukee; For being the person who published Milwaukee Impressions Magazine which replaced the original Milwaukee Magazine after it went bankrupt, and for his civic, business and social leadership in the city as he helped build the Marcus Corporation into a national company; Marcus will join a circle of knights that includes Herb Kohl, H. Carl Mueller, Dave Baldwin, Ben Barkin, Capt. James Lovell, Fritz and Debra Usinger and Fred Pabst.
