Thank you to all who participated in our City Birthday Party contest. The votes are in and the Milwaukee Press Club is pleased to announce winners.
Nominations were accepted in six categories in recognition of this year’s theme, “Savoring our City” – a celebration of Milwaukee’s vibrant culinary scene. Here are the top two winners in each category:
Top chef – Aaron Miles (InterContinental), Michael Feker (Il Mito)
Best restaurant – Il Mito, Kil@wat
Food champion – Joe Bartolotta, Michael Feker
Best farmers market – West Allis, Milwaukee County Winter Farmers Market
Best brewer – Lakefront, Sprecher
Greatest gourmet good – Purple Door Ice Cream, Rocket Baby Bakery
Dozens of nominations came in across six categories. Finalists were then put to a public vote. Many used the power of social media to boost the chances of their favorites.
Winners will be recognized at the City Birthday Party next Thursday, Jan. 28. Admission is $35 and includes complimentary appetizers, beer and birthday cake.

Ticket comes with a FREE membership! As an added bonus, the Milwaukee Press Club is offering free year-long memberships to first time members who attend the City Birthday Party. This is available for qualifying collegiate, retired, affiliate and media professionals who have never been a member of the press club. Must sign up at the registration table the night of the event to receive your free membership.
