The Milwaukee Press Club’s display of historic signatures at the Newsroom Pub, 137 E. Wells St. has been updated to include our most recent Sacred Cat honoree, Jonathan Alter, and Headlines Steven Roell, retired Johnson Controls CEO and Michael Pink, artistic director for the Milwaukee Ballet.
We’ve also relocated one of our most famous signatures – that of Louie Armstrong, so that it is more easily spotted.
The club’s collection of more than 1,200 signatures dates back to 1898 and includes key figures in journalism, entertainment, culture, sports and politics.
The Newsroom Pub will be open from 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. during the Doors Open Milwaukee Sept. 20 and 21, sponsored by Historic Milwaukee. Press Club leaders will be on hand to greet visitors, answer questions and give informal tours.
