Virtual event hosted by Milwaukee Press Club and WisPolitics.com
MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales will be the featured guest at a virtual event set for noon on Tuesday, August 4. Morales will be joined by his attorney, Franklyn Gimbel. This Newsmaker Lunch Hour is presented by a partnership between the Milwaukee Press Club and WisPolitics.com.
Morales’ tenure as police chief has been the subject of controversy and speculation in recent weeks in the midst of ongoing racial justice protests in Milwaukee and demands from the Milwaukee Fire and Police commission regarding police department conduct.
Morales was appointed in 2018 to replace Edward Flynn, who retired after clashing with the FPC. He was re-appointed in December to a full four-year term.
Morales will field questions from a panel of journalists from noon to 1 p.m., moderated by Milwaukee Press Club President Gene Mueller, host of Wisconsin’s Morning News at News Radio 620 WTMJ.
