Joe Solmonese, chief executive officer of the 2020 Democratic National Convention committee in Milwaukee will be the featured speaker at a Newsmaker Luncheon, hosted jointly by the Milwaukee Press Club and WisPolitics.com on Wednesday, June 19.
Solmonese, a longtime political strategist, will oversee the day-to-day operation of the committee as it prepares for the convention, set for July 13-16, 2020. Previously, Solmonese served as chief executive of EMILY’s List, which backs woman candidates who support abortion rights; and was president of the Human Rights Campaign, which advocates for LGBTQ equality. He also was transition chair of Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
Solmonese will take questions from a panel of journalists and from the audience at the luncheon, set for 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Newsroom Pub, 137 E. Wells St.
