7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
As we approach one year from working from home, what could be more fitting than another round of Trivia from Home?
The Milwaukee Press Club had an excellent response to our first ever virtual trivia event and will hold another Trivia Smackdown from 7 to 9 p.m. March 18. Journal Sentinel sports reporter and Trivia Guru JR Radcliffe will return as our host – and promises slightly easier questions. Journalists, public relations professionals and others are encouraged to form teams and participate.
The event will be held via Zoom, and proceeds will go toward the Milwaukee Press Club and the MPC Endowment.
The MPC Endowment was established in 1973 to promote the advancement of journalism excellence. The endowment carries out its mission by providing scholarships to students, funding journalism-related education programs and establishing its own funds, including the Don Walker Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Eric Miller PantherVision Scholarship Fund, and the Tim Cuprisin Memorial Fund. A new scholarship was launched in December in honor of Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Meg Jones who recently passed away.
To participate in the Milwaukee Media Smackdown, registration can be done by booking below with a team of up to eight people. Teams should come up with a team name to use at registration. If you do not have a team, MPC can place you in a team.
An early-bird price of $10 per player is available until 11:59 p.m. March 15 for MCP members and $15 for non-members. All registrations after that are $20 per player.
Questions will be asked through a Zoom conference, and teams will be able to discuss and answer within breakout rooms. Knowing that the COVID-19 quarantine doesn’t provide many people the opportunity to get together, the press club will give teams ample time to discuss questions and socialize within the breakout rooms.
