MILWAUKEE – Alex Lasry will be the featured speaker at the next Milwaukee Press Club’s Newsmaker Luncheon on Wednesday, March 21, 2018. Lasry, senior vice president of the Milwaukee Bucks, is working with a group of civic leaders in the push to bring the 2020 Democratic National Convention to Milwaukee.
Lasry and other local leaders announced the DNC convention bid last month. They say the gathering could be held at the new Milwaukee Bucks arena and would be an opportunity to highlight the redevelopment of downtown Milwaukee. The event is expected to draw about 50,000 visitors.
Lasry will take questions from a panel of journalists and from the audience at the luncheon, set for 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Newsroom Pub, 137 E. Wells St. The event is open to the public.
The Milwaukee Press Club’s Newsmaker Luncheon Series is sponsored by the Medical College of Wisconsin.
