MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Press Club will present a Newsmaker Luncheon on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, featuring Dr. Demond Means. A Milwaukee Public Schools graduate, Means is the superintendent of the Mequon-Thiensville School District, and was named by County Executive Chris Abele to be commissioner of the Opportunity Schools and Partnership Program. The program was established by the Legislature in hopes of turning around some of the city’s poorest-performing schools.
Means grew up in Milwaukee’s Sherman Park neighborhood and graduated from Riverside University High School.
Means will be interviewed by a panel of Milwaukee journalists.
