Wisconsin Appeals Judge Brian Hagedorn, candidate for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, will be the featured speaker at a Newsmaker Luncheon, hosted jointly by the Milwaukee Press Club and WisPolitics.com, on Wednesday, March 6.

Hagedorn and his opponent, Appeals Judge Lisa Neubauer, are seeking to replace Justice Shirley Abrahamson for a 10-year term on the state’s highest court. Both Hagedorn and Neubauer sit on the Waukesha-based District II Court of Appeals. Abrahamson chose not to seek another term in the non-partisan election set for April 2.

Neubauer also has been invited to be the featured speaker at a Newsmaker Luncheon.

Hagedorn was appointed to the Court of Appeals by former Gov. Scott Walker in 2015, and was re-elected in 2017. Prior to that, Hagedorn was Walker’s chief legal counsel. He also served as an assistant attorney general from 2010 to 2011, and as a law clerk for the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 2009 to 2010. He also was in private practice from 2006 to 2009.

He graduated summa cum laude from Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois in 2000 and from Northwestern University School of Law in 2006.

Hagedorn will take questions from a panel of journalists and from the audience at the luncheon, set for 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Newsroom Pub, 137 E. Wells St.

The panel of journalists:
Charles Benson, News Reporter/Anchor, Today’s TMJ4
Dan Bice, Watchdog Columnist, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
Kent Wainscott, Reporter, WISN TV
