Tarik Moody of 88Nine Radio Milwaukee will be the featured guest at a Newsmaker Luncheon set for noon on Wednesday, August 3, hosted by the Milwaukee Press Club and WisPolitics.com.

Moody is content producer and on-air host at 88Nine Radio and program director for HYFIN, the firm’s new Urban Alternative channel. With its mix of 60 percent female and 40 percent male artists, HYFIN is a new Urban Alternative channel, a locally customized public radio format focused on young, diverse audiences through the full spectrum of Black music, according to a statement issued at its launch last month. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting is providing initial support for HYFIN with a $450,000 grant.

The new channel will play music from at least two Milwaukee musicians each hour; and HYFIN’s “The Morning Mix” show will be unhosted, playing all music from 6 a.m. to noon.

Moody will take questions from a panel of journalists and from the audience at the luncheon, to be moderated by Milwaukee Press Club President Corrinne Hess, reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The event is set for 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Newsroom Pub, 137 E. Wells St.
