Peggy Williams-Smith, president and CEO of VISIT Milwaukee, will be the featured guest at a virtual event set for noon on Thursday, July 16. This Newsmaker Lunch Hour is presented by a partnership between the Milwaukee Press Club and WisPolitics.com.
A Greenfield native, Williams-Smith has spent her entire career in the hospitality industry. Before taking the top job at VISIT Milwaukee last fall, she was a senior vice-president with Marcus Hotels & Resorts, having worked her way up from her start there as a bartender and food server. VISIT Milwaukee is the city’s primary driver for tourism, which in previous years has supported more than 50,000 jobs and brought in more than $5 billion annually in the metro area.
Williams-Smith, will field questions from a panel of journalists from noon to 1 p.m., moderated by Milwaukee Press Club President Gene Mueller, host of Wisconsin’s Morning News at Newsradio 620 WTMJ.
