MILWAUKEE, WI – September 28, 2022 – Maryann Lazarski, editorial producer for Milwaukee PBS will lead the Milwaukee Press Club as president for the next year, after the membership’s ratification of annual elections to the club’s board of governors at its Annual Meeting on September 27.
Lazarski is an award-winning veteran broadcast journalist. She joined Milwaukee PBS in 2013 where she is currently the editorial producer involved in storytelling creation and strategy. Lazarski produces the news-magazine program 10thirtysix along with documentaries and specials. In addition to her work at Milwaukee PBS, Lazarski spent 20 years at WISN-TV Channel 12 in both producing and management positions.
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences honored Lazarski with the Silver Circle Award for her tenure and significant contributions to the industry. She has won several Emmys and national public media awards in addition to top honors from the Milwaukee Press Club, the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, the National Association of Black Journalists, and the Associated Press.
Lazarski also has held faculty positions at Cardinal Stritch University and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
She has served on the Milwaukee Press Club Board for nearly 20 years.
