The MPC Endowment is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 1973 to invest in the excellence of journalists through local scholarships, educational grants and programming.
In the past 12 months, the MPC Endowment has funded:
As of October 2017, the MPC Endowment had assets of approximately $268,000. Funds come from donations made by individuals and from the proceeds of Milwaukee Press Club events. Funding decisions are made by an elected board of directors that operates independently of the club and maintains separate finances.
Many Milwaukee Press Club members, friends and community members have designated the MPC Endowment in their wills, or set up funds to honor journalists, such as the recent Eric Miller Scholarship Fund. Contact Endowment board treasurer David Niles to discuss these options. dniles@productiveknowledge.com
Also, many corporations are willing to match employee donations to a nonprofit. We encourage donors and their families to check with their corporate headquarters to inquire if the employer has a matching program.
