The Milwaukee Press Club, one of the oldest continuously operating press clubs in the world, will host its annual Gridiron Awards Dinner on May 8 at The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. This year’s event will be timely, poignant, and not-to-be missed.
We are pleased to welcome this year’s Sacred Cat award winner, Gloria Borger.
Borger is CNN’s chief political analyst, appearing regularly on The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and on Anderson Cooper’s AC360 and across the network’s primetime programs. Borger plays an instrumental role in CNN’s daily coverage while reporting on a variety of political and breaking news stories, including midterm and presidential elections, Supreme Court rulings, Congressional investigations and more.
This year’s Headliner Awards will be presented to John W. Daniels, Jr., Chairman Emeritus of Quarles & Brady and Bob and Susan Mikulay, of St. Croix Productions, who have served as community volunteers and board members at non-profit organizations throughout the Milwaukee area. Headliner Awards are bestowed annually to local newsmakers who are making a positive difference.
There are three ways to get involved with the Gridiron Awards event and support the Milwaukee Press Club’s journalistic mission, and students pursuing careers in journalism:
This event also recognizes the Press Club Endowment’s Annual Excellence in Wisconsin Journalism award winners. Most importantly, proceeds from this event help to ensure the quality of Southeastern Wisconsin’s journalistic community for years to come through college scholarships, mentoring, professional development and industry advocacy.
